Disconnected
In the movie “Disconnected” the
three people in it where kind of successful. The reason I say “kind of” is
because there was the one guy in there that had a proxy check his email for him
and do some daily school stuff. I would say that is kind of cheating the system
and that if he couldn’t last the three week he should have just said he
couldn’t do it. Other than him the other people in the activity did a pretty
good job. I found it funny that everyone doing the documentary was bored in the
beginning because they had no idea what to do, almost like they were lost
without their computers. So to help with that they found themselves doing stuff
they would never be doing otherwise. I remember the girl saying “I find myself
doing things that I should probably be doing, that I don’t when I have my
computer”, like her cleaning her room. I honestly would not have been able to
probably last a day without my computer because I am constantly on it. It’s a
good way for me to interact with my friend’s back home using skype so I can
talk to them and it’s almost like being with them. I would have probably been
like the guy using proxy’s to get around not being able to use it. If I
couldn’t use it my emails would be backed up and when it comes time to use it
again I’d feel way behind schedule and probably spend a whole day catching up.
All in all I thought it would be kind of a cool experience but I would not make
it three weeks, probably only 6hrs.
